IVAN PASTRANA and his “SONORA DE LA HABANA”

Band leader, Tres guitar and vocals, Composer and musical arrangements, The Cuban Cowboy was born on September 21, 1975 in an small town outside

of Havana. Starts as a musician on his father´s band and later at the University founded with his brother Tito Pastrana the group Patente Habana Band, winner

of National Universities Music Award in 1994.

Professional since 1995, is Graduated from Félix Varela Professional School of Music in Havana, he has played the Tres guitar and the flute in several cuban

ensembles: “Cachivan Sextet”, Palmas y Cañas Strings Orchestra”, Hoyo Colorao”, “Leyanis López Group”, “María Victoria´s Band” , “Lazarito Valdes &

Bamboleo” and also in the international registered projects “Lady Salsa Show”, “Live from Buena Vista The Havana Lounge”, “The Bar at Buenavista” and

“The Sound of Buena Vista”, been the main composer and arranger in a few of them.

With these groups has been touring more than 30 countries of 3 continents such as: Singapore, China, Dubai, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Slovakia, Slovenia,

Czech Republic, Rumania, Bulgary, Hungary, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Spain, Italy, Turkey, Georgia, Belgium, Nederland, France, México, Venezuela

and others, performing at important theaters and festivals as Cambridge Arts Theatre, Liverpool Empire Theatre, Jersey Opera House, the Stadthalle of Wien,

the Asciente Belgique in Brussels, Carré in Amsterdam, Kongresshaus of Zurich, Sava Center of Belgrade, Teatro Nazionale di Milano, Coleur Café Festival and others.

He has shared at stage with figures of the stature of Los Van Van, Manolito Simonet y su Trabuco, Orquesta Revé, Vico C, Andrea Bocelli, Joe

Cocker,Teresa García Caturla, Reinaldo Creach, Gonzalo Rubalcaba, Julio Fernandez, etc.

This time he is commanding this marvelous All Stars project ¨The Sound of Buena Vista¨ touring for its third time in Asia territory giving to the audience the best of

the traditional cuban music passed down from generation to generation.
